A bill sponsored by Congressman Curtis passed the House Committee on Natural Resources. The Rural Broadband Permitting Efficiency Act of 2018 affords rural communities better access to high-speed internet.

Congressman Curtis (UT-3) represents five rural counties — Emery, Carbon, Grand, San Juan, and Wasatch. The bill aims to help bring broadband and economic development opportunities to these and other such communities.

“We all agree that improving the deployment of broadband and high-speed internet in rural America is essential,” Curtis said.

Efficiencies in permitting and establishing a single point of contact for a given broadband deployment project are included in the bill.
