Washington, DC –  Representative John Curtis (R-UT) supported H. Con. Res. 24 – expressing the sense of Congress that the report of Special Counsel Mueller should be made available to the public and to Congress. He released the following statement:

“In the last two years, the federal government has spent millions of dollars on Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Trump and the 2016 election. Consistent with current law, I believe that when that report is finally complete, the American people deserve the utmost transparency about its contents, whether that information clears the President’s name or incriminates him.”

Background

H. Con. Res. 24 (Mueller Report Sense of Congress)

  • This is a nonbinding resolution that simply restates current law to ensure as much transparency as the law allows.
  • The special counsel regulations protect certain materials, including classified and grand jury information.
  • With approximately $25 million spent on this investigation at the end of last year, taxpayers should have access to the report.
